The only problem--once the 100 experiments are done, you need to upgrade. My son even INSISTED that he take it with him to show his grandparents one day. It was "that cool" of a toy. My son LOVES this "toy." Although I wouldn't call it a toy necessarily. The experiments build upon each other so going back to the start is very simple and "boring." The instructions were written well--he was able to create all 100 projects with minimum assistance. It taught him about circuits--how to make a light flash, a fan blow, a siren wail, etc. Also, because it "snaps" together, it is sturdy, and no wires are floating around the house now.
The diagrams are easy to follow. Kids readily start designing their own circuits. I have used this product several times in the classroom with elementary and middle school aged children. Basic electrical concepts are easy to teach. I recommend these kits to anyone who has children interested in hands on experiments. The response was overwhelmingly positive. The schools we partner with for science demonstrations liked these kits so much they jumped at the chance to get some as a donation.
He loves it- and so so my daughter and I. I've been studying physics with my kids for a while, and a friend recommended Snap Circuits- what a great tool. My son grabbed the set immediately upon its arrival and worked through a bunch of the activities, one after another, and then started creating his own projects.
He is anyways too much into building/architectural/magnetic toys and always likes to talk about electronics/signals etc. I wish I had this toy when I was a kid. I bought it for my 7 yr old son after reading all the good reviews and boy I am so glad I did. I just wish they make a sturdier box and also provide simple basics of electricity/parts-resistance etc so that child can read and get attuned very early on. Excellent product and great price. Its fun toy, easy and excellent to teach your kid basics of electronics at the same time. My son kept on doing one project after the other.
I play this with my 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter and we have a blast. This is super fun and very educational.
